Releases: Josh Keyes x Tiny Showcase – “The Hermit” & “Migratory Soul” Prints

Currently until Tuesday, March 11th, Tiny Showcase will have two prints available for purchase individually or as a set from Josh Keyes (interviewed). Although the originals were painted for different shows, the two pieces seemed destined to end up together due to their synchronous imagery. On March 21st, Geoff McFetridge will be opening a new solo at V1 Gallery, his second with the Copenhagen showspace after a successful stint there in 2011 (covered). Upcoming: Gary Baseman – “Play With Us Or Else” @ Vinyl on Vinyl

Tonight (March 7th) in the Philippines, Gary Baseman’s (interviewed) will be opening a show at Vinyl on Vinyl entitled Play With Us Or Else. Along with paintings, art toys, and costumed fun, the Los Angeles-based artist will also be signing the catalogue from his first museum retrospective, The Door Is Always Open, held at the Skirball Cultural Center last year. The Underdogs Gallery is Lisbon is currently showing a solo from a young illustrator, graphic designer, and visual artist, AkaCorleone. Otherwise known as Pedro Campiche, the Portuguese artist began as an active writer in Lisbon’s graffiti underworld, and has since started exhibiting his work in 2010. POW WOW ’14 / Streets: Final Recap

After bringing you extensive coverage of this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, it’s time to recap the rest of murals that we didn’t have time to focus on. Along with local artists, the muralists travelled from all over the world (like Defer &  Norm whose calligraphy made a perfect background to Kamea Hadar’s overlaid face) to beautify the industrial district of Kaka’ako in Honolulu and to share in the aloha spirit.
