Kai & Sunny have just released a new screen-print entitled Ghost Flower as featured as a large format image at their recent London exhibition at StolenSpace, The Flower Show. We’re pretty enthralled by their dynamic imagery and thought that this image was one of the stand-outs of the show. Bay Area-based Brett Amory (interviewed) unveiled his latest paintings in his Waiting series for his exhibition, White Light at Anno Domini in San Jose, CA (previewed) on Saturday night. Opening this Thursday, September 8th, at Chelsea’s Joshua Liner Gallery is East Weets Mest, the second full-gallery solo exhibition by Tomokazu Matsuyama (interviewed) Recently, we were lucky enough to have the chance to visit Matsu’s studio as he was finishing preparing for the show, and we were blown-away by what we saw. Last Thursday evening, Spoke Art hosted the opening of an exhibition featuring 4 artists from different parts of the globe: Handiedan (Amsterdam), Craww (UK), Charmaine Olivia (San Francisco) and Tatiana Suarez(New York). Incase, who released a series of products featuring Andy Warhol imagery back in April has apparently moved on to phase II. The new collection will add on more protective casings and bags options featuring new images that showcase the pop artist’s versatility with a variety of media including silkscreening (Elvis, Advertisements), film (Empire) and hand-drawing (Telephone, Do It Yourself Flowers). Alex Lukas continues to delight us here at AM with each series of his distressed cityscapes, and judging by the work in his upcoming untitled solo exhibition at San Francisco’s Guerrero Gallery, he continues to go from strength to strength. Lukas’ representations of global mortality are realised in a series of paintings showing a graffiti’d and desolate landscape in a post-human / post apocalyptic context.
