Exhibition A is set to release some exciting pieces on its site next month (also see David LaChapelle) by a couple of highly talked-about artists that normally do not have multiples of their work created. Sean Landers, whom many are familiar with for his popular word paintings, will have a limited edition stretched canvas print featuring another popular series – his clown paintings. Jessica Harrison, whose bloody ceramic sculptures first caught our eyes at a group show last summer, will be opening a solo show later this month in London. Entitled Broken, a nod to the similarly named collection of figurines (Breaking), Harrison’s gory handiwork will be on display at the Jealous Gallery starting on April 28th. Reuniting three major players from the Art in the Streets exhibition, this latest release from OBEY Giant features the photography of Martha Cooper (interviewed) of a wall with Shepard Fairey (featured) and COPE’s work on it, all distilled through Shep’s distinctive filter. The 18 x 24″ signed screen print will be released today, April 21st, online at a random time with a limited run of 450 and priced at $60 for those interested. Coming to Bristol this week is Modern Fabulists – a group exhibition curated by our friends Chippy Coates and Richard Scarry, aka Coates & Scarry. You’ll know Richard as being the director of Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, who of course curated the 2010 Art from the New World exhibition at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. Releases: Miss Van x Safewalls Print

On this Thursday, April 21st (around noon eastern time), SAFEWALLS will be releasing their next artist collaborative print. Miss Van, who is currently showing in Paris (covered), continues the Cirque du Soleil project celebrating the art of the circus poster with the offering seen above. Facemaker opened at Royal/T last Wednesday, curated by Kathy Grayson, director of The Hole NYC and former director of the Deitch Projects. After seeing Pakayla Rae Biehn in several group shows, it’s nice to see her finally present a larger body of work. Being There opens May 21st at the Thinkspace Gallery and will showcase the San Francisco-based artist’s ethereal works, often painted to give the feeling dream-like double exposed photos. Focus: Swoon – “Art in the Streets” @ MOCA

One of the surprises for AM while visiting the Art in the Streets exhibition was pulling aside the curtain and stepping inside the Swoon (interviewed) installation. The huge tent-like illuminated paper and cloth construct invited viewers to explore all 360 degrees of glorious detail. We found ourselves returning again and again to take in the novel new imagery from the Brooklyn-based artist and you should as well. More detailed shots after the jump..

Another street artist featured in MOCA’s Art in the Streets show was none other than Shepard Fairey (featured). Again teaming up with Jeffery Deitch (Shep was the final exhibition at Deitch Projects), the prolific artist created a tightly focused room that revealed new canvases based off of previously “beautified” locations.
