Streets: Shepard Fairey x Vhils (Lisbon)

Just this weekend, Printed Matters, a show from Shepard Fairey (featured) opened at Underdogs in Lisbon, a gallery co-founded by the locally-based Vhils (interviewed). Their collaboration didn’t end there as the American and Portuguese street artists combined their artistic vision for a joint mural featuring Shep’s iconic imagery and Vhils unique mark-making. Festival Iminente will be bringing a taste of Portuguese culture to East London at the end of the month. The event is being curated by Vhils and the Underdogs Gallery which he established in 2013. The festival debuted in Lisbon’s Oeiras district last autumn and this latest iteration carries a particularly contemporary theme with the subtitle Art Before Brexit. Releases: Pejac – “Scattercrow” Print

Pejac will be releasing a new limited edition on Friday 14th at 6PM CEST (12PM EDT) via his official website. Scattercrow is a lithograph featuring one of his earlier images (first painted back in 2010). For this release, the Barcelona-based artist picked the old-fashioned process of lithograph stone printing in order to achieve an as direct and as unchanged of a image reproduction. On July 8th, Giant Robot 2 in Los Angeles will be opening a new solo from Edwin Ushiro (interviewed) entitled A Survey. Showing: Slinkachu @ The Museum of Fine Arts (Ghent, Belgium)

Currently at the The Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, Slinkachu has some works on view as part of a new group show Manufactories of Caring Space-Time. Not only does the UK-based artist have his signature miniatures on view that are part of the museum’s permanent collection inside but also has some installations outdoors as is his practice.
