Tessar Lo will be presenting his first solo exhibition, “Future Perfect”, this Saturday, April 11th from 7-10PM at LeBasse Projects. Expect this new series of paintings to be his largest and most powerful yet. Eric Fortune will be exhibiting with his own solo conjunction with Tessar. Fortune’s new series of paintings will be presented in the LeBasse project room and is his largest body of work to date. The London Police (TLP) opened their show tonight at StolenSpace entitled “10 years On The Circle Line.”Â Famous for their “Lads” characters and their simple aesthetic that started about 10 years ago, they come together again to collaborate on a show featuring paintings, photography and a video installation. Their linework is amazing in person, as you consider the iconic “freehand” circle shapes combined with the the new architectural style.Â Photos after the jump…

Aaron Jasinski has a new show at Distinction Gallery opening this Saturday, April 11th. Entitled “Tractus Secretum” (Latin for â€œSecret Space of Time”), the show brings back Aaron’s unique moody blend of characters, robots, andÂ animals, in surrealistic landscapes. His colorful pieces often stir memories of a distant past but also tickles the imagination. AM has long enjoyed the mixed-media watercolor and ink studies of Minnesota based artist Cherri Wood. We are excited about her latest series of works entitled “trouble, clearly” opening tomorrow, April 10th in the project room at Thinkspace Gallery. In an interview with our friends at Sour Harvest, Wood describes her illustrations as “exploring various themes such as idiosyncrasies, isolation, humiliation, and memory. AM met up with Brandi Milne this past weekend and got a chance to see what she has in store for her new exhibition “Run Rabbit, Run” which opens this Friday, April 10th from 7-11PM at Thinkspace Gallery. As always, you can expect to see a creative body of work from Brandi. There will also be a special installation made up of a collection of hand painted antique books. Two talented artists, Jeremiah Ketner and Julie West are opening their dual show “Flower Parade” this Friday, April 10th at Rotofugi in Chicago. Ketner and West make a perfect pairing as both their works have a magical fairytale-like feeling to them. Ketner returns with his signature creatures as well as his wonderful colors, drawing viewers into his dream-like world, while West’s feminine characters project a sense of innocence as they interact with a case of different critters. Openings: Daniel Danger & Dan McCarthy @ Gallery 1988 SF

Daniel Danger and Dan McCarthy (interviewed) had a successful opening this past weekend at Gallery 1988’s San Francisco location. With many of the originals and prints long sold out before the opening, “The Watcher in the Woods” has proven to be quite an accomplishment for these two artists in their West Coast debut. My, how time flies.Â The fourth installment in the Grafuck series is set to be released this Saturday, April 11th at Nucleus Gallery. Grafuck 4 features a diverse selection of paintings, photography, and graphic design involving erotic themed art.Â As usual, there a nice mix of well-known and lesser-known artists participating in this year’s exhibition and book release, including James Jean (interviewed) who created the centerfold for this year (seen above). AM is excited about Berlin-based stencil artist BOXI’s debut United States solo show “Grey Area” opening this Thursday, April 9th at Carmichael Gallery. Openings: Hi-Fructose Group Show – “Overdose” @ Copro Gallery

“Overdose” (previewed) opened this past Saturday at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica. Upon entering the gallery, you will notice several great pieces from “Overdose” on display in the gallery’s front room. The majority of the exhibition’s body of work is displayed in the gallery’s main room. A table was set up over in the smaller wing of the gallery for the Hi-Fructose Collected Edition 1 book signing.
