Showing – Joys & Peeta – “My good old habits” @ Wunderkammern (Milan)

Currently at Wunderkammern in Milan, a joint show from Joys and Peeta is on view entitled My Good Old Habits. The new pieces are centered on the “vices and customs that we repeat in an automatic, predictable way, until they turn into tradition.” The two EAD crew members have contributed some individual works, Joys with his architectural forms that evolved from his research into lettering and Peeta with his signature three dimensional graffiti. Included are also some interesting collaborative works, something the two have worked on in the […]

Showing: “What In the World: The Juxtapoz Edition” @ Urban Nation

Urban Nation in Berlin recently teamed up with Juxtapoz Magazine, and its editor Evan Pricco, to curate their latest edition of PM/events. What In the World: The Juxtapoz Edition is the title of the group show that opened on May 19th, further introducing the wide range of urban art that this upcoming museum will be showing and supporting. The idea of this vibrant exhibition was to present the non-existence of boundaries in this lively art movement, through work by mostly Europe-based artists. Not defined as graffiti, […]

Interviews/Releases: Dale Marshall – ‘Vacant Hero’ Print

Dale Marshall originally started painting graffiti under the name Vermin in the early 1990s and he was a founding member of Bristol’s Souls On Fire crew, who were known for their visceral and heretical style. However, as the decade was coming to an end, his life was spiraling increasingly out of control because of heavy drug use and a resulting mental breakdown which resulted in him being sectioned in a Cornish psychiatric hospital, all of which Marshall has been very open about. Since switching to producing […]

Previews: Daniel Arsham – “Crystal Toys” @ Galerie Perrotin (Seoul)

On May 25th, the Seoul branch of Galerie Perrotin will be opening a new solo show from Daniel Arsham entitled Crystal Toys. Continuing his unique practice of creating “future relics”, the American artist looks to be taking his work in a more whimsical direction for this exhibition, focusing his technique on childhood toys. Using different materials like ash, amethyst, selenite, and quartz, Arsham has as usual created sculptures of how he envisions modern day objects would look like if they were discovered many many years […]
