We last caught up with Brett Amory (interviewed) while he was in London for his show at the Lazarides-run Outsiders Gallery in January. Time goes by quick as he’s already set to open his newest solo, Dark Light, at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery on June 30th. Opening Monday, June 27th at the Gagosian in London will be a new body of work from Takashi Murakami. According to our friend Amanda Erlanson, the long awaited HEROES & VILLAINS book has finally been released. In it, photographers Tatiana Wills and Roman Cho take snapshots of many of the artists we follow here on AM. Opening alongside Jen Lobo this Saturday night at Thinkspace, is the Ohio-based Scott Radke (interviewed). Featuring over two dozen pieces from the soulful sculptor, by far the most ever in one location, Burlap is a cant-miss show for fans of his beautifully grotesque works. As indicated by the title of the exhibition, many of these new sculptural pieces feature the incorporation of the specific fabric in the work, adding a nice new texture.
