Teaser: Korin Faught – “Voices of the Lake” @ Corey Helford

Next Saturday night in Culver City, Voices of the Lake, a new body of work from Korin Faught, will open at Corey Helford Gallery. Teaser: FriendsWithYou – “In The Beginning” @ Colette

Starting tomorrow, August 29th, Miami collective FriendsWithYou (who just exhibited in New York) will be showing at the Colette in Paris. In The Beginning will feature bronze sculptures, a series of graphic illustrations, including some in-store exclusives, an animated video, and a small world of pets magic gifts and limited editions all presented with the childlike innocence and geometric mastery the duo is known for. Teaser: Antony Micallef – “Happy, Deep Inside My Heart” @ Lazarides (Rathbone Place)

On September 9th, Antony Micallef (interviewed) will be returning to the Rathbone Place location of Lazarides with another exhibition.  Happy, Deep Inside My Heart, will be his first solo since 2009 at the London gallery (covered), although his work was seen stateside in a group show with Conor Harrington, JR and Vhils in Beverly Hills last year. Teaser: Bast – “Scenario Del Rio” @ The Outsiders – Newcastle

As a regular collaborator with Faile (see Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Deluxx Fluxx Arcade), Brooklyn-based Bast hasn’t had many solo projects recently. All that will change next month as he will be unveiling a new solo exhibition in the UK at The Outsiders in Newcastle. The new body of work is entitled Scenario Del Rio and with the showcard sporting an intriguing image, we’ll be looking forward to seeing what he has planned for his fans. Discuss Bast here.

Teaser: Tim Biskup – “Former State” @ THIS Gallery

Coming up on October 14th, Tim Biskup will be back in Los Angeles for a solo show at THIS Gallery featuring new paintings and sculptures. Focusing on other projects, we haven’t seen many exhibitions from the Biskup as of late with the last show in LA being at De La Barracuda in 2009 (not counting his installation at The Standard Hollywood). Hajime Sorayama has been busy since we last saw him last Winter at New York’s Gering & Lopez Gallery. Teaser: Lindsey Carr – “Homage to Canton” @ Thinkspace

Scotland-based artist Lindsey Carr, who we have seen in multiple group shows in the past, will be bringing a full set of paintings for her solo at Thinkspace in September. Entitled Homage to Canton, the new body of work will feature her retro-feel illustrations of flora and fauna like the great John James Audubon but with a surreal touch like Scott Musgrove as some of what she paints won’t be found in nature.
