Video: The Date Farmers – “Strange Fruit” @ Fifty24SF

After exhibiting recently in Amsterdam in July, The Date Farmers are bringing the heat from from Coachella to the Bay for their show at Fifty24SF on September 3rd. Here is a video teaser for their show “Strange Fruit” opening Thursday night with the artists in attendance. For over 10 years, the Mexican-American duo have brought their working class art to the masses infusing their work with their culture and traditions. We are looking forward to more of their popular paper mache sculptures and paintings on […]

Teaser: Amy Sol @ Copro Gallery

Amy Sol (interviewed) sent us a first look at her upcoming show at Copro Gallery in November.  It’s been a while since we have seen a solo from Amy (last December at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery), and even that one was a break from her usual wood pieces.  That’s why we are especially looking forward to this new body of work.  The Las Vegas-based artist tells us that she will have be focusing on her love for the desert and will explore this particular theme in […]

Teaser: Luke Chueh – “Inferno” @ Gallery 1988 (LA)

How very appropriate it is for Luke Chueh (interviewed) to base his next show on Dante’s “Inferno” and the 9 rings of hell in the famous Italian poet’s masterpiece.  With much of his career body of work dealing with the physical and mental torture (albeit often comical) of his poor animals, it was not much of a jump to imagine them all in a personal hell that Luke has created for them. Luke sent us a picture of three of his large paintings for the […]

Teaser: Camilla d’Errico “Vain Remains @ Thinkspace

“Double your pleasure, double your fun…” That’s what it looks like when we see Camilla d’Errico’s latest body of work from her upcoming show “Vain Remains.” Since we last caught up with Camilla at SDCC, she’s been heads down working hard for her upcoming exhibition at Thinkspace. Catch another little sneak peek after the jump.

Teaser: Kris Kuksi – “Beast Anthology” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

AM just saw the one of the pieces from Kris Kuksi for his upcoming solo show at Joshua Liner Gallery and wanted to share it immediately with our readers.  This piece is entitled “The Temptation of St. Anthony,” which refers to the temptations faced by Saint Anthony the Great during his times in the Egyptian desert (a common subject in art and literature – probably the two of the most well-known, for us at least, were by Hieronymus Bosch and Salvador Dalí). We can’t wait […]

Teaser: David Stoupakis – “Red” @ Dorothy Circus Gallery

Some images from David Stoupakis have leaked of him getting ready for his upcoming show at Dorothy Circus Gallery in Rome. Stoupakis will be bringing a new body of work with his special blend of gothic surrealism to Italy at the end of October. Perhaps his muse Aprella will be making an appearance as well like she did at the Dr. Sketchy Tribute Event to Stoupakis in May. Some more in progress shots as well as a quick look around the studio after the jump…

Teaser: “The Thousands” Group Exhibition @ Village Underground

Compile a list of the most important international street artists historically and contemporaneously and chances are, the names you have chosen are included in “The Thousands,” the most expansive street art exhibition to hit London this year. The show has been organized by AM’s friend RJ of Vandalog and aims to celebrate the achievements of street artists around the world and aid in solidifying their rightful place in art history. Set in the main atrium of Village Underground, “The Thousands” will open November 18th and run through November 22nd. A companion book will be published by Drago Lab to commemorate […]

Conor Harrington (interviewed) who was just in Italy for his part in the FAME Festival and in the U.S. for a show at Kinsey/Desforges (covered) will be releasing this detailed drawing for sale through the Shop at Lazarides. The A5 sized drawing will be available at the Greek St. Location July 19th at 2pm at £950 plus VAT, but of particular interest is that it is a glimpse at what’s to come for his upcoming solo at Lazarides (Rathbone Place) in October.  As always, expect […]

More pics after the jump.
