Continuing his longstanding work within skate culture, Andrew Schoultz recently completed a project in Las Vegas earlier this month at the skatepark at the Clark County Winchester Cultural Center. Working with his team, the Los Angeles-based artist painted the ramps, pyramids and other obstacles with his signature imagery including the all-seeing eye. In related news, Schoultz will return to the area on June 2nd when his show at UNLV’s Marjorie Barrick Museum opens. As mentioned in our introduction to the Peanuts Global Artist Collective earlier this month, murals featuring the work of some of the participating artists were unveiled in New York. Painted on the side of downtown office buildings on the West Side near Hudson Square, imagery inspired by Charles M. From May 4th, Palais de Tokyo in Paris will pay tribute to the history and legacy of the May 1968 events with a intervention by Escif, where he reproduced some of the famous writings from that period of student revolts. His creation completes the project, which was started in 2015 by Greek artist Stelios Faitakis, who realized two murals dedicated to the legacy of the situationist movement and civil unrest of May 1968. Fascinated by the play of light within the nighttime landscape ever since he was a young boy, Stephen Fox has taken that interest and translated it into a career of painting. While in town last week for the opening of his show (covered) at Galerie Itinerrance, D*Face (interviewed) was able to get up with a massive mural in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. For those keeping score, this is the second piece (also see 2017) the British street artist has painted for “Street Art 13” project organized by the gallery. Earlier this month in Belgium, the third iteration of the The Crystal Ship art festival (also see 2016 & 2017) welcomed in an international roster of artists to create murals and art installations in the coastal city of Ostend. One of the standout walls comes from Sainer (featured) of the Etam Cru entitled Podkarpacie, a painterly piece which appears to be named after a province in Poland.
