It looks like Faile (featured) has completed the amazing cathedral-like installation in Lisbon for PortugalArte ‘10 that we first showed you teaser pics of here. The sheer size and detail of this project from the Brooklyn duo is nothing short of mindblowing, comparable to the immersive installations of Banksy. The seamless integration of their imagery as well as the craftsmanship of this art structure is pretty amazing. More detailed pics after the jump sent to us from Dflektor blog.
After finishing his mural in Hillcrest for the Viva La Revolucion exhibition, Shepard Fairey’s (featured) moved to the next spot – South Park (29th and Ivy). From the looks of things, this piece will be a larger version of his “Burmese Monk” image. Those in San Diego, make sure you get out and find all these street gems by these major artists as most likely, this will be the only time in the near future where you will have this opportunity in your hometown. There are some major shows taking place this weekend the world over, but none more important than the major ‘Viva La Revolucion’ show down in San Diego at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art that opens this Saturday evening. Curated by Pedro Alonzo, the man responsible for Shepard’s recent museum show at the ICA Boston has pulled out all the stops for this one. See our coverage of the show and surrounding outdoor installs coming together here and be sure to get down to […]
After stopping by earlier to this week to catch the beginning of Shepard Fairey’s (featured) mural in Hillcrest, AM went back to snap some pics of the finished mural. Shep has already moved on to the next spot (more on that later) as he is pasting up San Diego to prep for Viva La Revolucion opening this weekend. More detailed pics from our friend, Stephanie Fong, after the jump…
It seems like every time there is an important museum exhibiton, art festival or fair, Os Gemeos is sure to be invited to participate. Who can blame the curators though as the twins never cease to amaze with their indoor and outdoor works featuring colorful and imaginative characters showcasing the vigor and lifeblood of Brazil? Coming off their work for Fame Fest ’10, Otavio and Gustavo join the list of who’s who in street art in sunny San Diego for the epic “Viva La Revolucion” […]
It looks like while Michael De Feo was in Hong Kong for his show at No Borders Art, he also had time to get up around the city. Along with his classic flower pieces, he also used some of the abstract imagery seen in his new body of work. More pics after the jump…
As we hinted in our facebook page yesterday, AM photographer, Cecilia Do, has been monitoring the progress of the mural Shepard Fairey (featured) has been working on in San Diego. The massive undertaking, located in Hillcrest (on Fifth between University and Washington) is part of the public works slated for the big Viva La Revolucion show opening this weekend at the MCASD. Take our look at other artists who have put up pieces already (here), as well as more pics of Shep and his crew […]
After a successful show at White Walls for Bay Area-based ABOVE (interviewed), the nomadic street artist decided to travel down to Southern Cali for a four-month long summer tour. Although not as exotic as many of the other locales he has visited in the name of art, Los Angeles seems to be a perfect spot for his newest project – a revival of his iconic arrow mobiles – this time with a Hollywood twist. Take a look at the many spots he hit up with […]
Last year, AM had the pleasure of visiting artist Joe Sorren at his studio in Flagstaff – you can check out our pictures here. Whilst we were there, Joe gave us a tour of the town, and in particular an insider’s look at his mural, titled “The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux”, in downtown Heritage Square. Read on for further details and pictures after the jump.

AM recently brought you details of the ProjectRoom event that Jaybo and Remi/Rough held last month in London with Juice 126.
