After posting the mural project between Os Gemeos & Futura, we thought it wouldn’t be right to be in NYC and not stop by for an onsite AM look behind this project. The twins (Octavio & Gustavo) took an early crack at the legal mural space which is actually a Chelsea public school (P.S. 11) and is made possible by support from Nike, Montana Colors, and Allen Benedikt of 12oz Prophet & AKANYC. The ginormous figure measures over seven stories tall and from what you […]

A pretty epic collaboration piece is going down right now in NYC. After attending the opening of the PRISM group show, then hitting up Yosemite with Barry McGee, the twins have now started a huge mural with Futura in Chelsea. Os Gemeos is definitely on a roll after working with another legend, Blu, in Lisbon just a little while ago in May. Now, New York will have not one but two murals from the Brazilian duo.

Not sure when Invader put these up in Paris, but the way these photos were taken was pretty well done. If you are in Southern California and want to see some work from the street tilemaster in person, head down to San Diego.  There are still many pieces up from the Viva La Revolucion show. More pics after the jump…

We’re partial to a bit of D*Face (interviewed) in our lives here at AM, so when we heard that he was traveling to South America to get down to some good old fashioned street art as part of Dinamo’s internationally vibed ‘9no Festival de Arte en la Calle’, held in the capital of Ecuador – Quito, we were naturally curious about what laid in store. Details seemed sketchy at best, and we wondered what may come of this trek halfway around the world. We wished him […]

Do you believe in global warming? If you remember, Banksy does, despite his tongue-in-cheek statement to the contrary. Now, we know Blu does too after this clever new piece in Berlin (another Berlin piece here) that shows that it’s only a matter of time before our cities are submerged. Another look after the jump….

After Jeremy Fish (featured) finished up with his show at Fifty24PDX (covered), he traveled to Gudalajara, Mexico to give a talk and run a workshop with Sam Flores (interviewed). The bad news is that it was canceled, but the good news is they had time to put up this nice joint mural. More pics after the jump…

Blu, whose stunning mural in Warsaw we recently pointed out, apparently was also in Berlin. The Italian street artist, who likes to work in large scale, put up a more simple piece, but no less poignant. With what looks like a representation of the Berlin Wall coming down, there also appears to be a wall of Euro’s that replaces it or is also about to fall, depending how you look at it. Is he referring to the unity of Europe (represented by the Euro) that […]

Wow! It looks likes Blu is continuing to go big with his murals. This time the Italian hits up Warsaw with this “war” mural (no pun intended) but also digs a little behind the real motivations of why it happens – look at the puppet strings and the badges with the dollar signs.  Next up for Blu will be Nuart 2010 (The Landmark Series) with other participants including Vhils, ROA, Dolk, Ericailcane, Evol, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Sten & Lex, M-City, and Dotmasters. More detailed shots of […]

Before we hit up the Meat Packing District with Nick Walker (interviewed), we spent the day in Williamsburg on the corner of Roebling & Metropolitan working on another mural. This “legal” project location was graciously provided by our friends at Brooklyn Street Art. Under the sweltering heat, Nick pulled out his latest stencil “Amerikarma”. We thought it would be a simple project, but the detailed oriented Mr. Walker took this project very seriously and dedicated over 5 hours working the Bullets & Stripes mural. Check […]
