This Sunday, POW! WOW! Hawaii (more info here) kicks off with a re-occurring show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum of Art School entitled Exploring The New Contemporary Movement (see 2016 & 2015 & 2014). As in the past, the format is 12 x 12″ works, leading to a visually congruent display of artworks, some of which were inspired by island life. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, James Jean (interviewed) will be offering up a new print entitled Lapins d’Amour. The signed and numbered time-limited edition will be available for 24 hours starting at 8:00 AM PST on Tuesday, February 14th and ending at 7:59 AM PST on Wednesday, February 15th and then never sold again. Upcoming: No Commission Art Fair (London)

Following the success of previous events in Miami in 2015 (covered) and New York in 2016 (covered), London will be the first European city to host immersive art and music event No Commission presented by The Dean Collection & Bacardi from December 8-10. James Jean Designs Facade Of Fair-Haired Dumbbell (Portlant)

The Portland Design Commission recently approved James Jean’s (interviewed) design for the facade of the Fair-Haired Dumbbell, a building currently under construction near Burnside Bridgehead in Portland. The Los Angeles-based artist’s imagery, inspired by roses and thunder eggs, will wrap the 8 sides of the two-building creative office project, and also cover the roof. Following up on his first Adrift print release, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing the Adrift II print starting tomorrow morning (November 21st) at 8:00 AM PST. The time-limited edition will be available for 24 hours and will never be reprinted after this release. Three months since its debut at the Seattle Art Fair (covered), the Juxtapoz x Superflat group show co-curated by Juxtapoz editor, Evan Pricco and Takashi Murakami opened on the November 5th at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
