Dr. Sketchy Anti-Art School with Tara McPherson

We can’t seem to get enough of Tara McPherson and Molly Crabapple since drawing along side them at Baby Tattooville in the Riverside Art Museum (covered). So, AM decided to stop by and get in a little schooling with a special edition of NYC’s Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School featuring none other than our friend Tara McPherson. For this special session a “life drawing” model was transformed into a beautiful & seductive “Lonely Heart” siren. Right after we hung out with Molly Crabapple at Baby Tattooville, she jetted her way down to the southern hemisphere to attend the Pixel Show in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Oct 10th-11th). Benefit: Gary Baseman Drawing for Cultural Canvas Thailand

It’s always great fun to catch up with friends/artists at events like Baby Tattooville. In fact, enjoyed ourselves so much with Gary Baseman and gang that we almost forgot to mention his benefit auction for Cultural Canvas Thailand – a Thai art charity looks to help single mothers and children. Gary has generously donated an awesome drawing measuring 6 feet x 3 feet for this cause. Check out the auction here, but hurry cause this ends a little after midnight tonight. Creative Process: Ana Bagayan – Promethius

Ana Bagayan’s latest show: “Orphan” is set to open Saturday at the renowned Billy Shire Fine Arts. We’ve been keeping tabs on the fabulous Ana and her superfine works. Ana has been working non-stop since we last saw her at Baby Tattooville to get ready for this show and thankfully she worked in some time to do a “creative process” on her latest work “Promethius“.
