Next Thursday, Carmichael Gallery will open up a great group show featuring the works of Case, Charming Baker, Ian Strawn, Guy Denning, and TRXTR. The opening reception is Nov 6th from 8pm to Midnight. As previously reported: Charming will also be participatingÂ in the Bonhams Contemporary: Urban art discussion panelÂ hosted by Seth Carmichael which includesÂ AM friendÂ Shepard Fairey! Studio Visits: Jeff Soto (Part I)

Stopped by Jeff Soto’s studio last week to check out his progress on his upcoming show at the Riverside Art Museum as well as introduce him to the guys at Modus Films. Dan Witz: Kilroy Variations

Dan Witz has posted up some images up of his project the “Kilroy Variations,” his take on the ubiquitous “Kilroy was here” graffiti.Â Â He originally this project in 2006, but this 2008 update has evolved quite a bit since it’s beginnings. The preview images for Kukula’s show “Princess Express” (previously teased) which opens on November 8th at Copronason are now online.Â You really get a feeling that her work has matured as you look through her paintings.Â Her details, “story-telling,” and composition really look to have taken a step up while maintining some of the edginess from before (bleeding hearts, injured animals, scratch marks, suggestive outfits). This panel will includeÂ Shepard FaireyÂ (artist), Charming BakerÂ (artist), Jon Reis (Filmmaker), Shana Nys Dambrot (Art Critic/Editor), and Cindy Cronk (Modern Art auction house specialist). Clayton Brothers’ special limited edition decks

Brilliant artists The Clayton Brothers recently collaborated as guest designers with Mark Gonzalez’s Krooked Skateboards to produce a limited edition set of two skateboards, entitled Any Given Night. And while the limited edition decks are on sale at various skate shops, The Clayton Brothers reserved 25 of each deck to customize as unique pieces. Looks like there is a pretty good show being put together at Dorothy Circus Gallery called “Inside Nostalgia” that is opening Halloween night.Â It’s a three person show featuring Tara McPherson, Esao Andrews, and Travis Louie as well as a large group show in the back gallery featuring: Natalie Shau, David Stoupakis, Camille Rose Garcia, Zoe Lacchei, Naoto Hattori, Prunelle, Silvia Idili, Andy Fluon, Paul Chatem, Ciou, Elena Rapa, Adam Wallacavage, and Arash Radpour. Kehinde Wiley @ Deitch Projects

Down, an exhibition of new paintings by Kehinde Wiley, opens this Saturday at Deitch Projects. The exhibition supposedly will consist of four large-scale paintings inspired by images of fallen warriors, saints and classical mythology.
