Streets: Hula – “Maka’u” (Hawaii)

Continuing his series of works in hard to reach locations, Hula recently painted a mural on the edge of a waterfall entitled Maka’u. Dealing with issues of fear, as suggested by the title, on multiple levels, the piece saw the Oahu-raised artist otherwise known as Sean Yoro suspend himself on the edge of a waterway on surfboard as he took risks to paint an image of a person hanging on by a rope. This weekend, Galerie Perrotin in Paris hosted the opening of a new show from Aya Takano entitled The Jelly Civilization Chronicle. Releases: Audrey Kawasaki – “As I Fall” Print

This weekend, until Sunday, March 19th at 11:59pm PST, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) will be releasing a new print entitled As I Fall. The 48 hour time limited edition is a reproduction of one of the paintings from the Los Angeles-based artist’s solo show from last year (covered), a painting influenced by the smoggy sunsets of LA.
