Openings: Seen – “OLD NEW YORK” @ Buckshot Gallery

A couple weekends ago, Buckshot Gallery in Los Angeles opened a solo show from graffiti legend SEEN. OLD NEW YORK features a series of abstract works on canvas as well as free-hand graffiti works that he created while in Paris, including a nice touch of using unexpected materials such as metal frames from the Parisian rooftops. Releases: KAWS x Mira Mikati Varsity Jackets

For those who missed it, KAWS recently collaborated with designer Mira Mikati on several different varsity jackets. Featuring the cartoon character based imagery from the Brooklyn-based artist, the jackets from Mikati are now available from colette for €1100. Upcoming: “The Legend Of Zelda” // 30th Anniversary Art Celebration @ Hero Complex

Tonight in Los Angeles, Hero Complex Gallery will be opening a 30th Anniversary Art Celebration for The Legend Of Zelda. The action-adventure video game from Nintendo has certainly developed a cult following through the years so expect many of the iconic images be used by the artists in the group exhibition including Link, Princess Zelda (illustrated by Audrey Pongracz above), and the Triforce.

Previews: “DUO” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Tomorrow night (February 27th) at Thinkspace Gallery, a show will be opening featuring the work of artistic duos known for their work on the streets. In collaboration with Berlin’s Urban Nation, DUO will feature Best/Ever, Cyrcle, Jana & JS, Nevercrew, Snik, Telmo Miel (seen above) and Yok & Sheryo (who will also be creating a special installation and mural). Releases: Kozyndan // Pangeaseed – “Celestial Bodies” Print

Continuing their partnership with Pangeaseed, artistic duo Kozyndan recently released a new print entitled Celestial Bodies. Their love for the oceans is well known, so this this whimsical piece revisiting their riff on the narwhal is a perfect project to collaborate on with the for-benefit company trying to help to save the seas through ocean-inspired art.
