Upcoming: Kevin Cyr – “Live Work Play” @ Alden Gallery

Heading back for another show after a year (see 2014), Kevin Cyr (interviewed) will be will be opening Live Work Play at Alden Gallery in Provincetown tomorrow night, August 21st. The new pieces continues his series of documenting neglected vehicles and then returning to his Portland, Maine studio to paint them in detail. Cyr will be showing alongside Robert Morgan and Raúl Gonzalez III through September 3rd. Streets: Ericailcane (Italy)

Last week for the BREGHEDEBRE event in Sassari, Italy, Ericailcane was invited in to paint the facade of the facade of the former Hotel Turritania. After this was completed, artists Andrea D’Ascanio, Andrea Casciu, Kiki Skipi, Elisa Desortes, Bastardilla joined the Italian mural painter in holding a live printmaking session for their fans. Upcoming: Takashi Murakami – “The 500 Arhats” @ Mori Art Museum

Coming up on October 31st, Takashi Murakami will be unveiling his first solo exhibition in Japan in over 14 years. The title The 500 Arhats at the Mori Art Museum references the piece that will be the showstopper, a 100-meter-long painting which was created as a thank you to the nation of Qatar, one of the first to offer assistance after the earthquake and tsunami in 2011 in Japan.
