After recently showing at the 5th Year Anniversary of Graffuturism (covered here), the French-born and Berlin-based artist BLO from Da Mental Vaporz crew is having a solo exhibition at Swinton & Grant Gallery in Madrid opening this weekend. The show entitled ‘Dreams have no title‘ features a series of canvases and ink drawings on paper. On May 23rd in Shanghai, Magda Danysz will be hosting a new show from Liu Bolin entitled The Distance To The Eyes, his third solo with the gallery. After sharing some in-progress shots of the murals going up at the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts in association with the Samurai! show (co-curated by Eric Nakamura, editor and founder of Giant Robot Magazine), we now have a look at the finished walls. Audrey Kawasaki took the high road painting one of her beauties on the second floor balcony of the Lancaster Lobby while Mari Inukai went underneath her, also making a play on the Japanese-themed exhibition with her imagery. On Saturday, May 23rd, Thinkspace will be opening a solo show from Ariel DeAndrea entitled Chasing the Current. Her subject matter of choice for her oil paintings are paper cranes floating in bodies of water, referenced from photos she takes herself and derived from her origami skills (you can get a good idea of her process in the video below). After recovering from a period of illness, the talented El Mac is taking advantage of his improved health to do what he loves best – spread his imagery via public art. His latest effort entitled Ars et Scientia was recently painted in Boston at Northeastern University on the facade of Meserve Hall, which was built in 1893.
