Coming up at the end of the next month, the Long Beach Museum of Art will be hosting an interesting group exhibition where 14 accomplished artists are asked to contribute one large scale painting from their careers which they deem as being pivotal. Because of this premise, most of the work included, we would imagine, will be taken on loan from collectors. German art duo, Herakut, recently opened their solo show Flaw Circus at Ruttkowski;68 Gallery in Cologne, on the 29th of August. Only a few months after working on projects in Syria and North Jordan, Hera and Akut put together a show that speaks to the social & political issues around the globe and the way they’ve experienced them. Influenced by graffiti and street art culture, their visual language is a emotive mixture of everything from text and handwriting, expressive sketch-like elements, surrealist scenery and characters, to almost photo realistic […]

For this unique project, the artist prepared a 300 page book with guidelines about what he wants to be created […]

While in the Bay Area, the two Hawaii-based artists and friends took the opportunity to get up around the city with a couple murals. Mirroring their work for the gallery as well as their collaboration for POW! WOW! Hawaii earlier this year (covered), the walls were painted with the distinctive combination of Hadar’s figurative work […]

Last week, Shepard Fairey (featured) visited New York City to show a little love for his fans in the Big Apple. Entitled We Own The Future, this fresh creation took over three days to finish and we stopped by to document the process from beginning to end. Discuss Shepard Fairey here. INSA for G9 Restaurant (Shanghai)

Artists who have have been featured here on AM continue to be viable options for restaurants that want a distinctive interior for their customers. Several months ago, INSA was in Shanghai where he oversaw the completion of his collaboration with Architect INDJ on the decor of G九 上海 (G9 Shanghai). Featuring the London-based street artist’s signature high heel motif, the focal point was a huge interactive lighting installation that mimics his GIF-ITI (animated graffiti) works that can be controlled by diners in the VIP seating area. You can find […]
