Continuing their art related efforts, Urban Nation recently invited Shepard Fairey’s (featured) in for their One Wall Project. Last week, we shared some photos with our readers of Shepard Fairey’s (featured) new mural in NYC for the L.I.S.A. Project. During his time in New York, he also hosted the official NYC launch of his signature design for this year’s Hennessy V.S Limited Edition artist bottle at ARENA. While there, Fairey was happy to share a drink with the Big Apple and drop some hotness as he spun a set along with DJ Mick. Take a look at more photos from the event below… Discuss Shepard […]
Last week, Shepard Fairey (featured) visited New York City to show a little love for his fans in the Big Apple. Mr. Obey and his posse worked on a massive six story mural on Bowery just off of Broome as he took advantage of the Manhattan skyline with the help of the L.I.S.A. project. Entitled We Own The Future, this fresh creation took over three days to finish and we stopped by to document the process from beginning to end. Discuss Shepard Fairey here. AM was lucky enough to attend a fun night filled with comedy and music as Kanye West also made a surprise performance for the pumped […]
Last month, we brought you photos from Shepard Fairey’s (featured) big museum exhibition in Charleston at The Halsey. As you may have guessed from the nature of his work, he also put in time on the streets. Working with his Obey crew, he pasted up his iconic Andre the Giant as well as other familiarly treated imagery up around town. Check out more photos below as well as a video… Photo credit: Jon Furlong. Discuss Shepard Fairey here.
After bringing you an early in studio glance at Shepard Fairey’s new body of work, it’s time to look at the opening at The Halsey, where the new pieces were put on display alongside a new show of Jasper John’s work. Power & Glory featured a celebration as well as a political critique of Americana and the decline of the “American Dream,” kind of a duality of where he shows an appreciation for the iconography but also provides satire. Of course, fans of is work will […]
