For the fourth edition of Murals In The Market, anamorphic street artist Leon Keer recently finished a piece entitled Urban Colonization. A couple nights ago, the Minotaur event put on by Lazarides kicked off at the The Old Vic Tunnels, also the site of 2010′s Hell’s Half Acre exhibition. This time around, the theme was an old Greek legend and depending on your choice for price of admission, dining was included from top Michelin-starred chefs. Perhaps influenced by the pop-up restaurant The Tree House (see video above) in Frankfurt for which he presumably curated the artwork for, Lazarides will be bringing the PRET A DINER concept in for his newest project in London. During Frieze and the London Restaurant Festival, from October 10 – 25, the gallery will be organizing a show and pop-up fine dining experience in The Old Vic Tunnels, site of 2010’s Hell’s Half Acre exhibition. Last Thursday, AM was in London’s Soho district to attend the opening of Marks & Stencils: the Pictures On Walls Christmas season pop-up gallery exhibition, which in previous years has gone by the name of Santa’s Ghetto. There was a great atmosphere at the event. No doubt this was partly assisted by the deceptively strong cocktails being served, which led us to yet again repeat our mistake of equating “sweet drink” with “harmless drink”.
