Releases: Aaron De La Cruz x Hex Capsule Collection

Aaron De La Cruz recently collaborated on a capsule collection with Hex featuring duffel bags, backpacks, and a phone case. The resulting items mix the brand’s sleek products with the Bay Area-based artist’s signature geometric style that fans of public art will be familiar with. Streets: Inter|Urban project (Cleveland)

Jasper Wong from POW! WOW! recently joined forces with Fred Bidwell from Transformer Station as curatorial team for the INTER|URBAN public arts program 2016. This original project is working on transforming Cleveland’s public transit rail system into a large-scale public art experience. Through artwork that can be enjoyed on their commute, this program seeks to challenge public transit riders emotionally and intellectually, while making physical and cultural connections to their surroundings. Upcoming: POW! WOW! Long Beach

With the annual event in Hawaii expanding into SXSW this year and Taiwan last year, the POW! WOW! festival will finally hit the west coast on June 21-28. POW! WOW! Long Beach will feature a week of exhibitions, film screenings, talks and of course public murals. Participating in the street art will be Aaron De La Cruz, Benjie Escobar, Cryptik, Fafi, Hueman, James Jean, Jeff McMillan, Jeff Soto, Low Bros, Madsteez, Nychos, Push, and Tristan Eaton. Showing: Modernica Chair Group Show @ Soze Gallery

Last Saturday night, Soze Gallery in Los Angeles opened a group exhibition that highlighted the form of the Modernica chair, seen through the lens of each participant’s artistic vision. Friends and artists who show with the gallery, created custom one of a kind versions of the chair with their signature styles and techniques with part of the proceeds going to benefit The Art Of Elysium, a non-profit organization that brings empowering artistic programs to children in the local hospitals in the area. Recap: POW! WOW! Taiwan

Last week, the first POW! WOW! Taiwan wrapped up successfully as invited artists finished public works throughout the capital city of Taipei.
