Camille Rose Garcia has been recognized as one of the most important figures in the Pop Surrealism and Lowbrow art movements in the last two decades. Simultaneously, she has been somewhat a promotor of Mexican culture-inspired art with her vibrant and energetic works, filled with spiritual and psychedelic imagery. After years of creating quirky images that resonate with contemporary culture, as well as with the comics, music, and other alternative culture movements, Garcia has built a large following ranging from young aspiring creatives to high-end […]

One of the satellite fairs we always hit while in town for Basel Week Miami is the always intriguing emerging NADA art fair. Returning to Ice Palace Studios, the 16th edition continued to be “dedicated to showcasing new art and to celebrating the rising talents from around the globe.” As one of the only major American art fairs to be produced by a non-profit organization, the event allows some of the world’s youngest galleries showcase their exciting stable of artists. Check out photos of some of what caught […]
The 14th edition the Pulse Art Fair returned to its oceanfront home at Indian Beach Park in Miami Beach this year, showing works selected by 70 international contemporary art galleries. Divided into two separate pavilions, the exhibitors either presented a selection of artists, had solo show booths, or were part of the Conversations program in which two artists were paired for this special concept. Among many return galleries, the event also introduced 26 new ones that never participated in this fair before. As one of the regulars, Copenhagen’s Poulsen […]
This week, the art world congregated in Miami once again for Art Basel week. Taking center stage was of course the main fair featuring 200 of the world’s leading galleries displaying artworks by over 4,000 artists. Visitors were able to enjoy a wide range of works including paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works – here are just a few of the pieces that caught our eyes including a wall of Ai Weiwei fingers. As a part of this year’s Juxtapoz Clubhouse program at Basel Week Miami, James Joyce will be signing and selling his two newest limited edition prints at the main location (200 E Flagler). The two images are new variants of his iconic clown-smiley face series that eventually became one of the most recognizable images from Banksy’s Dismaland project a few years back. Measuring 55 x 55cm, 150 examples of each colorway will be available for purchase with unsold copies going up on his webstore at a later […]
Tomorrow (November 30th) is the public opening of Ethereal at Goldman Global Arts in Miami, Vhils’ (interviewed) latest solo show. Timed perfectly to coincide with this year’s Basel Week Miami, the debut solo exhibition for the gallery inside The Wynwood Walls will highlight the Portuguese artist’s unique mark-making as well as his skills with multiple techniques and mediums. To welcome in fans who come for a visit, he has also created an intervention on the facade of the gallery that mirrors the pieces he leaves on the streets all around the world. Vhils […]
Art Basel Week Miami is just around the corner, and once again Juxtapoz Magazine is coming to Miami with another edition of their Juxtapoz Clubhouse concept, this time taking over a whole section in downtown Miami. Running sort of an art fair of their own, or an art district if you wish, this year’s event was again organized in collaboration with Mana Contemporary, and will include seven curated storefronts, multiple art installations, as well as a full Mexico City group show and pop-up installation show. Celebrating the impressive […]
