Releases: David Flores – “Deathead”

Not only has David Flores been busy in the streets and in the gallery, he has also been working on a new figure entitled Deathead. The 10″ tall reinterpretation of Mickey melded with Totenkopf symbol utilized by the Prussian army during the time of Frederick the Great will be produced by Bic Plastics and reportedly come in five colorways. Haroshi x HUF x DLX Collaboration Event

Coming up on January 7th in Los Angeles (545 S. Clarence St.), sculptor Haroshi (last seen at his NY solo) will be unveiling his limited edition collaboration with HUF and Bay Area skateboard distributor DLX. The event will also include an exhibition of six original works by the Japanese artist who is known for crafting work from compressed skateboards. Teaser: Ray Caesar – “it started with eve…” launch @ Stephen Webster

Publications: Tauba Auerbach “Folds” Book

Now available from Sternberg Press comes Folds, an elegantly produced and insightful publication chronicling Tauba Auerbach’s captivating series of paintings by the same name. This neat little project from Geoff McFetridge, whose work we last ogled at in his solo show in Copenhagen, was brought to our attention recently. The LA-based artist just opened an exhibition at the renowned Heath Ceramics in Los Angeles featuring his paintings on the walls and some special ceramic products, many of which are one of a kind. Urban Outfitters – $10 Balloon Dog Figure

Baby Tattooville ’11: Goodie Bag

We still have a couple more things to cover before we close the book on this year’s Baby Tattooville. One of these is the much anticipated “goodie bag” that attendees to the annual art retreat receive at the end of the weekend. Besides the sweet Diesel Fuel print set and reproduction of the Art Jam painting, a collection of other limited editions, drawings, and art paraphernalia was given away just before the trip home. Releases: Yoshitomo Nara “The Complete Works” Book Set

Last fall saw the release of a wonderful book to coincide with his Nobody’s Fool retrospective. This fall season sees the release of an even more comprehensive book set from Yoshitomo Nara.
