Showing: Boris “Delta” Tellegen – De Stijl Cycle Route

Lining the 20 kilometre path of the De Stijl Cycle Route in central Netherlands are ten new sculptures from Boris Tellegen aka Delta. Commissioned to celebrate the 100 anniversary of the Neoplasticism artistic movement, the unique columns measuring 55 cm on each side and rising more than 6.5 metres in height from the Dutch artist is a modern response to and echoes the de Stijl ethos. Running from the home towns of Gerrit Rietveld (Utrecht) and Piet Mondrian (Amersfoort), the path also takes you past many monuments […]

Showing: Boris “Delta” Tellegan @ Rose Beton Festival

With the focus of the Rose Beton Festival in Toulouse this year on graffiti, artists Craig Costello, Futura, Mist, Tilt, and Boris Tellegen were asked to create installations at the Musee des Abattoirs in an exhibition entitled EPOXY. For his part, Tellegen (otherwise known as DELTA), contributed a sculpture, small painting and associated wall mural for the event. The highlight of course was the robot like sculpture, created in the architecturally-informed abstract style the Dutch artist perfected on the streets of Amsterdam. Boris Tellegen x Maurer United Architect – “Lucy Nomad Pavilion”

The abstractions of Boris Tellegen, or DELTA from his graffiti days, have always had an architectural feel to it, especially those that he has taken in a sculptural direction. This can be perhaps attributed to the Dutch artist’s industrial design engineering background and in fact, he has taken on projects before that have utilized his aesthetic to create something concrete in the form of real world structures. On that note, this latest venture sees him teaming up with Maurer United Architects to design a bed and breakfast pavilion in cooperation for Lucy […]

Structures: Boris “Delta” Tellegen (Netherlands) – Part I

For those familiar with his work, the pieces from Boris “Delta” Tellegen, whether on the streets or in galleries, are very structural in nature. Interestingly, he has taken the architectural elements to his craft and applied them to the facade of a building in Harleem in the Netherlands. Commissioned by Ymere, a social housing company, the new housing block will feature Tellegen’s special post-graffiti aesthetic in the form of the pattern and shape of brickwork and windows on its surface. Take a look at the plans and […]
