Openings: “TRANSFORM” @ Sho Gallery

AM recently attended a great show at the Sho Gallery in Brooklyn. The group exhibition entitled TRANSFORM showcased the paintings and sculptures of 30 artists that work for or have worked at Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Studios. Although this show was not in anyway affiliated with the studio, it certainly impressed with the overwhelming talent that this influential studio possess. Artists such as Tat Ito (featured), Pete Watts (featured), Fumi Nakamura, Cybele, Matt Haber and Eugenia Yu gave us a glimpse at their off-hours talent in […]

One of the highlights of the Scope Art Fair this year was the booth from LA’s Corey Helford Gallery. From the moment we stepped foot in area, we noticed a plethora of art from some AM’s favorites like as Luke Chueh, D*Face, Chloe Early, Ron English, Natalia Fabia, Korin Faught, Eric Joyner, Brandi Milne, Sylvia Ji and Shag. The lux booth design was inviting as pimp couches and rugs invited spectators to take a load off to stare at a great preview of artwork for the […]

Videos: Basel Week Miami ’10: Wynwood Walls

As you know, Wynwood Walls was one of the centerpieces of the Art Basel Week Miami experience when it came to outdoor work. Other than the photos we shared with you here, we thought you would like to see some video footage of all the action provided by Vernissage TV. As an added bonus, Tony Goldman, the man behind the entire project, and his daughter Jessica were interviewed on the subject (seen after the jump).

Basel Week Miami ’10 – Andrea Rosen Gallery

With a booth containing sculptures by two of the hottest artists working today – David Altmejd and Sterling Ruby and large-scale pieces by Wolfgang Tillmans, Andrea Rosen Gallery’s booth at Art Basel didn’t need to do much further to stand apart from the others at the Art Basel fair, but stand out it did.  With a small room dedicated to work by the late Felix Gonzalez-Torres whom the gallery is showing at their New York location in a couple of days, Rosen made its booth […]

In addition, he made a signed print edition of 50 featuring his signature bullet hole to raise money for teen […]
