On October 6th, Japanese artist Yukimasa Ida will be opening his first international solo show in collaboration with art dealer Justin Cook. Bespoke, his first major show outside of Asia, will be installed for a week at the Labassa Woolfe shop in London’s Fitzrovia and will include works exclusively painted for this exhibition. Showing: Jose Parla – “Mirrors” @ Brand New Gallery (Milan)

Last weekend, a new collection of works from Jose Parla was unveiled at Brand New Gallery in Milan entitled Mirrors. The fresh pieces featured less prominent roles for the his signature script and instead had a more collage feel to them through the incorporation of parts of posters ripped off the walls of Milan, Rome, Napoli, Matera, Bari, Lecce and Bologna. Showing through this weekend at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is a retrospective of Yoshitomo Nara’s career spanning 30 years. Entitled For Better Or Worse, the exhibition includes wide range of work including installations, paintings, sculptures, and drawings. Showing: Jeff Soto – “Potatostamp” @ Riverside Art Museum

Currently at the Riverside Art Museum, Jeff Soto (interviewed) has a show on view featuring his screen-printed gig posters and fine art prints from the last 15 years. Releases: Javier Calleja – “Missing The Blue Sky” Figure

After successful Asian debut with AishoNanzuka Gallery in Hong Kong earlier this year (covered), Javier Calleja recently teamed up with the Asian art institution APPortfolio to transform one of his paintings into 3D sculpture.
