Openings: Daniel Arsham – “the fall, the ball, and the wall” @ OHWOW

Last Friday night, the OHWOW Gallery in Los Angeles hosted the opening for Daniel Arsham’s the fall, the ball, and the wall. Displaying a deep interest in architecture and its relationship to the natural world, the NY-based artist’s collection of pieces for this showing can be grouped into three categories – structural interventions featuring his signature melting or dripping creations, a series of canvas works depicting buildings with elements that spell out words, and a hanging cloud of tinted spheres. Basel Week Miami ’10 – It Ain’t Fair @ OHWOW

For the third year, Miami’s OHWOW put on its annual Art Basel Week group exhibition, entitled It Ain’t Fair, which is always a welcome respite from the cubicled craziness of Basel and the other fairs. Basel Week Miami ’10 – Emmanuel Perrotin Private View and Dinner

One of the first things we did yesterday when we arrived in Miami was attend the Emmanuel Perrotin party and opening reception at their gallery space. The event centered around Daniel Arsham’s sixth solo exhibition, Alter, with three new body of works – Objects from Antiquity, Push Puppets and Pixel Clouds.
