Streets: Deih // North West Walls (Belgium)

Recently during the Rock Werchter Festival of Belgium, Deih was invited to paint some stacked metal storage containers for the North West Walls event. Working well with the unique painting surface, the Spanish street artist chose to create some of his signature otherworldly comic-inspired imagery with an upside down character. He further explains his piece – “We, humans, only can watch at Cosmos’ face trapped by our limit´s perception. We will follow trying to understand it although I think we are not able to think […]

Streets: DEIH (Morocco)

After a look at what Saner painted for the Jidar Urban Art Festival in Morocco, we now turn our attention to the contribution by DEIH. The wall in Rabat was transformed by the Spanish street artist in his typical comic-inspired style and can be found in in Jacob Mansoir for those in the area. Take a look at more detailed photos below… Discuss DEIH here.

Streets: DEIH / Wall Poetry (Reykjavic)

Last week, Urban Nation curated an event in Reykjavic in association with the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival where participants were paired with an audio artist who provided the visual artist with a song, a title, a poem, a quote or a book that greatly influenced their work. The series of works was entitled Wall Poetry and featured the works of  D*Face, Elle, Evoca1, Tankpetrol, Cara, Ernest Zacharevic, Telmomiel, and DeihXLF (seen here) near venues where the bands will be playing during the festival from November 4-8 in Iceland’s capital. For his part, DEIH […]

Streets: Deih – UpNorth Festival (Norway)

After introducing you to the work of Deih back in July, we now have another wall from him to share with you from the UpNorth Festival. The Spanish artist once again used wide range of colors to render out more of his comic-inspired characters that seem to be taken out of a fantasy or science fiction novel. The event held in the small village of Sulitjelma in Northern Norway takes advantage of the large abandoned factories after mining companies left the area. Curated and organized by anonymous Norwegian artist Stein […]

Streets: Deih (Istanbul)

Take a look at this sweet comic-inspired wall painted by Deih recently for the Mural Istanbul festival. The character rendered beautifully in vibrant colors by the Spanish artist seems to be doing something of cosmic significance. Other artists scheduled to take part in the event include Aryz, Canavar, Cins, Esk Reyn, Kristy, Levi, Nuka, Qbic, and Wicx. Take a look at more detailed images and in-progress shots below…

Streets: World Roundup (Aug 4 – Aug 24)

With the return of our Streets: World Roundup feature, we first want to bring your attention to a new mural from Blu in Sardinia, Italy. The wall he painted once again showed his skills with large-scale imagery while working around architectural features of his surface. Also, the upside down toy soldiers are consistent with the Italian street artist’s penchant for politically charged public works. Other worthy walls come from Ernest Zacharevic – US, Satone – Germany, Seth – Puerto Rico, Bordalo II – Portugal (source), […]

This tribute to Tupac and the The Notorious B.I.G. by Eduardo Kobra was painted in the Wynwood District. Check out the rest of our coverage of the happenings in Miami here. Other notable public art comes from Philippe Baudelocque – Paris, Libre, Spel, Kafy, Dual (HEM crew) and Skof – Mexico, David de la Mano – Uruguay, Chor Boogie – New […]
