Streets: D*Face skate ramp

Last weekend, AM got the call from D*Face that he was up to some mischief in London, so hopped on the train to go and see what his latest project involved. Remember we showed you the pool D*Face painted in LA last year? What we got was a similarily was great piece of pop-street art fusion here in the UK. D was recently commissioned by skate company REAL to create the artwork for three of it’s riders – Brock, Busenitz and Ramondetta – new signature […]

D*Face x Christina Aguilera “Bionic” Album Cover

Looks like the rumors of D*Face (interviewed) creating the cover for noted art collector and singer Christina Aguilera’s newest album were true. After hitting up the Oscars earlier this month, the winged one continues his forays into American pop culture with this “Bionic” album (scheduled for a June release). Although mostly devoid of classic D*Face imagery, on closer examination, you can see his name and logo there along with others important in Aguilera’s life like “Jordan” for her husband, “Mom” for her mother, and “Max” […]

Streets: D*Face x Oscars

UK street artist D*Face (featured) recently stopped by Los Angeles to install some well-timed “Zombie Oscar Statues” last week. The two seven foot sculptures were installed in two locations – atop Runyon Canyon and in the parking lot of the famous Mel’s Drive-In in Hollywood near where the 82nd annual Academy Awards (Oscars) were being held at the Kodak Theatre. Our friend, Jeremy Kaplan (GM of Subliminal Projects) was along for the ride as D*Face worked his version Hollywood magic. The two installations were explained in detail […]

The show also marked the release of VNA Issue 10 with a special screenprinted cover by D. Take a look at more images from some established artists as well as some promising young talent after the […]

Streets (and Pool): D*Face in LA

D*Face (interviewed) has just returned back from his two week trip to LA where he made and released his “UnAmerican Graffiti” print, but we knew that he was going to be hitting a few spots whilst in town – and here are the results. The street pieces D painted included the quirky use of Spiderman in a “LA (is for Anarchy)” mural and the stenciling of a 1950’s pool in San Bernardino known as the “Ridiculous Pool.” Read on for more exclusive photographs and a video […]

Video: D*Face for LA Freewalls Project

As we mentioned in a previous article, D*Face (interviewed) is in Los Angeles now for various projects (more on this later). One of the things he’s participating in is the LA Freeswalls – 50,000 sq. ft. of wall space has been set aside in the heart of the arts district in Los Angeles.  In this video, you can see him painting a side by side mural reminiscent of the one he did recently in New York when he was in town for his LeVine show (covered). […]

Releases: D*Face – “UnAmerican Graffiti”

Immediately following the Green Day “Art of Rock” show (covered) at StolenSpace, UK artist and gallerist D*Face (interviewed) has come back stateside to pay a visit to the master printers over at Modern Multiples in Los Angeles. “UnAmerican Graffiti,” which you may remember from his “Ludovico Aversion Therapy” (covered) show at Jonathan LeVine last month, is currently being made into an impressive 21 color screen print. Measuring 34″ X 48,” this serigraph is true to size and will be limited to a run of 100 […]

Video: D*Face Mural Timelapse (Meat Packing District NYC)

After returning from his New York, D*Face (interviewed) sent us a timelapse video of some murals he put up in the Meat Packing District (covered). D was in town at the time for the opening of “Ludovico Aversion Therapy” show (covered) at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery and took the opportunity to make his mark on the Big Apple. Discuss D*Face here.

Streets: D*Face – Urban Interventions

Many of us were amazed at the work that London urban artist D*Face churned out for his show at Jonathan Levine this past weekend (covered). But what you may not have experienced is the wacky D*Face “Urban Interventions” that he leaves in his path when he decides to “hit the streets.” AM went around NYC to catch D*Face’s freshly painted murals in the Meat Packing district, right around the corner from the Standard Hotel. What’s cooler is that it’s right across from the kickass mural […]
