It sounds like D*Face (interviewed) and Mear One are planning a huge show in Los Angeles for May of next year. They will be taking over the 25,000 sq. ft. 2nd floor of L.A. Mart in downtown with their paintings and installations entitled Temporary Metropolis. One of the highlights of the Scope Art Fair this year was the booth from LA’s Corey Helford Gallery. We like catchy titles, and you don’t get much more catchy than the mouthful we named this contest. It seems that cans of paint are a valuable commodity in Ecuador and whilst we discard our empty cans and messed up caps without question where it is readily available, the local kids in Quito clean up the old tips and re-fill and re-pressurise the cans for a second life. D*Face (interviewed) sent us these great pictures taken on a warm and sunny day in London last week by photographer Viktor Vauthier. What better way to spend an afternoon than with a couple of girls armed with super-soakers? You can bet that we wouldn’t look quite so good in one of these new tees just released in D’s store, but at least we might feel good, as both shirts are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
