On February 22, URBAN NATION in Berlin introduced the 11th edition of their Project M/ series with an exhibition titled Radius. After introducing international talents in past projects, covering the past, present and future of urban art, M/11 was fully focused on the vast and diverse urban art community in Germany. For this event, the director of Urban Nation Museum For Urban Contemporary Art, Yasha Young, invited Boris Niehaus (JUST), Christian Hundertmark (C100) and Rudolf David Klöckner (URBANSHIT) to curate a very focused group show. This team […]

Several days ago, a new art editions online shop, Draw A Line, was launched from Berlin. The main goal of this project is to create and sell limited art edition prints in collaboration with international artists, but also, telling a story about the artists and their work. In order to achieve this, they invite contributing artists to visit their Berlin studio, or their representatives meet the artist at their home base. This approach allows them to have a closer look inside the mind of the […]
Tonight (7pm) at the Howard Griffin Gallery (189-190 Shoreditch High Street) in London, a special show from John Dolan will be opening featuring his drawings and collaborations with many street and graffiti artists. Dolan has been a fixture in Shoreditch, sitting in the same spot for the last three years with his faithful canine companion drawing the changing urban landscape of the area while interacting with many of the artists that create public art in the area. With a 20 year history of homelessness himself, […]

It looks like the Detroit Beautification Project is still rolling along with this newest mural, a collaboration between Flying Fortress and Nychos. If you remember, the Germany and Vienna-based artists (respectively) have hooked up before (Dublin & Vienna) for a synergistic brand of imagery. For more of FF’s work, those in New York should head over to the Mighty Tanaka for his solo One Man Army opening on June 15th. Photo from Revok. Discuss Flying Fortress here.
A project that was first hinted at here appears to have come to fruition in the Motor City. We have already shared works from Sever and Reyes for the Detroit Beautification Project, but now we have a closer look at the multitude of artists (many of them MSK affiliated) and the murals they painted centered mostly in Hamtramck. Selected photos include more from Reyes, Revok (seen above), 123Klan, Askew, Dabs Myla, Tristan Eaton, RISK, and Flying Fortress. For those interested, also check out a video […]
Last weekend in Dublin, Flying Fortress and Nychos collaborated on a sweet mural for the All City Tivoli Jam. This isn’t the first time the two have worked together if you remember the piece they painted several months ago in Vienna entitled “The Anatomy of Mother Bear Giving Birth” when FF visited his friend Austrian friend. This time around, the Fortress’ signature character is again dissected in Nychos’ distinctive style. Discuss Flying Fortress here.
