Upcoming: Futura x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle

Remember earlier this year when AM visited Paris to catch Futura 2000 launch his solo exhibition? Well, that wasn’t the end of his affiliation with the country known for some of the best wines and brandies in the world as Hennessy will continue their artist collaboration (see their KAWS bottle) with the graffiti legend. Last month, AM stopped by the Hong Kong edition of the Daydreaming with… exhibition. Designed to marry music and visual art, this experience gathered some high profile names in the genres of music, art, film, photography, fashion and design. Flying Murals of Wynwood

You may remember some photos that Futura sent us that we shared with you last month painted for Art Wynwood. That large painting, along with work from Retna, How & Nosm, DAZE, and Aiko was destined to be displayed at the Miami fair last weekend above as part of the flying murals of Wynwood project over the VIP lounge area. Preview: Futura for Art Wynwood

Not wasting time after his solo showing (covered) in Paris last month, graffiti legend Futura headed over to Miami for Art Wynwood to work on his latest project. The inaugural five-day held in the Art Miami Pavilion both emerging and established artists from more than 50 galleries as well as a special “the flying murals of Wynwood” that will be displayed in the fair’s VIP Lounge. Last weekend, the outdoor fields and indoor hanger Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona were the venues for the hand-painted vintage planes of The Boneyard Project: Return Trip. As part of our coverage of Futura’s show at Jerome de Noirmont in Paris, you may have noticed some photos of a large abstract mural that the crowd was admiring. Apparently, Guillotine was on hand to document some live-painting action as the NY graffiti legend showed off his spray control. Discuss Futura here.

Last night, AM was invited for a early viewing of Futura’s show at Jerome de Noirmont in Paris. The exhibition entitled Expansions was a fresh collection of works created by the New York graffiti legend. Getting to see the paintings up close gave us a deeper appreciation of the details layered in by the Brooklyn-based artist. You may recall that last Spring Futura was preparing to show at Galerie Jerome de Noirmont in Paris. Unfortunately, the show got moved as the artist was busy with several projects such as Carbon and Art In the Streets at the MOCA (covered). Good news is the exhibition is now set to open on January 13th. Retitled Expansion, the Brooklyn -based artist plans to display 15 new works created in his abstract realism style for the people in France to enjoy. We caught an early look at the show […]

As the Underbelly Project preps for the festivities for Art Basel Miami Week, word comes (via Brooklyn Street Art) of another satellite undertaking in Paris. Featuring the same daring tactics as in New York, the smaller French version (also organized by Workhorse and PAC) includes artists Conor Harrington, SheOne, Saber, How & Nosm, C215, Alice Pasquini, Will Barras, Futura, and Tristan Eaton.
