Coming up on November 8th, the LA-based Geoff McFetridge makes a return to his native country of Canada for his first showing there. Collectively entitled Floating, the new paintings will be put on display at the Cooper Cole Gallery in Toronto where fans will be able to admire his simple style that seems to walk the line between two and three dimensional space. Following directly on from Part 1 of our coverage of the busy Space//Form opening, AM now delves a little deeper pictorially into the artwork created for this huge group exhibition of 110 artists with a series of pictures where the art is more viewable (like the Mark Dean Veca installation above). Last week, Geoff McFetridge presented a set of all new paintings at the Ivory & Black Gallery in London in an exhibition entitled Around Us & Between U. Working with the basic colors and shapes that he loves to use, the Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist is able to capture the human form and everyday objects with a fresh new perspective. On September 14th, the Ivory & Black Gallery in London will be hosting all new works from the talented Geoff McFetridge. The Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist, who showed earlier this year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (covered), will be revealing ten new paintings on canvas collectively entitled Around Us & Between Us. As the opening of the Space//Form group exhibition draws ever nearer, and following on from our studio view, AM brings you a glimpse of some of the work in this huge show. Following our recently curated group exhibitions in Hong Kong; East West Connect and Los Angeles; City of Fire, AM’s UK correspondent Sven Davis has branched out with his own curatorial endeavour Space//Form. With the great Maurice Sendak leaving us last week and heading off to Where the Wild Things Are, the interwebs have been buzzing with respect for the inspirational artist and illustrator. With the Frieze Art Fair opening this weekend in New York, the PULSE Art Fair also took the opportunity to woo art collectors at the same time. Geoff McFetridge, who recently dazzled us with his collaborations and showing with Heath Ceramics, traveled up north a bit to the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for a solo exhibition at their University Art Gallery.
