StolenSpace Gallery in London is hosting their annual summer group show tonight. As usual, the roster features some stalwarts from their stable of artists as well as mixing in some new talent. UK based artist Von, or HelloVon as he has come to be known, is opening his show “Semblance” (previewed) at Cerasoli Gallery. The show has been on display since last weekend but the opening reception is this Saturday, September 19th at the Culver City gallery. We sat down with him to talk about his beautiful paintings which incorporate abstract and realistic elements at the same time lending to a dream-like, ethereal feel to this body of work. HelloVon, the London artist whose work first caught our eye at the “New Utopia” show at Subliminal Projects, just sent us a time-lapse video of one of his pieces for his upcoming show at Cerasoli Gallery.Â Entitled “Semblance,” his new body of work will no doubt feature and interesting mix of loose and detailed elements in each piece. StolenSpace shows always attract a good crowd and last week’s opening of their annual “Summer Group Show” was no exception. London was basking in a serious heatwave last week and the ice cold Tiger Beer was a welcome relief from the heat for the AM contingent attending the show.
