Damien Hirst x Connaught Hotel Christmas Tree

For this holiday season, the Connaught Hotel in London commissioned Damien Hirst to create a Christmas tree outside for passerby’s in the posh Mayfair neighborhood to enjoy. The 30 foot Norway Spruce was decorated by the British artist with the power of science and medicine in mind, one of the themes that frequently inspires him. Garnishments include medical instruments, snowmen formed with pills, garlands of pink sausages, as well as traditional white doves. Upcoming: ESPO – “Coney Island Is Still Dreamland (To a Seagull)” @ Brooklyn Museum

On November 20th, Steve “ESPO” Powers (featured) will be unveiling a site-specific installation for the Brooklyn Museum that he’s calling Coney Island Is Still Dreamland (To a Seagull). The immersive environment will transform the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Gallery with signage and paintings styles that are unique to the seaside community and will also feature the works of Justin Green, Matt Wright, Mike Levy, Dan Murphy, Mike Lee, Mimi Gross, Alexis Ross, Sean Barton, Eric Davis, and Tim Curtis. FriendsWithYou x Moncler (Ginza Flagship Store)

Continuing their commercial endeavors, FriendsWithYou recently collaborated with Moncler on a new collection of  jackets, sweatshirts and sweaters featuring their iconic imagery. The line entitled Happy Virus was created to launch the new flagship store in Tokyo in the top-flight Ginza shopping district. Adding in the Los Angeles-based duo’s graphics, plushes, and other design cues to the displays led to an immersive playground for shoppers who stopped by to check out the Italian-French brand’s new space. Tilt – “Panic Room” (Bogota)

Earlier this month, we brought you a look at the collaborative installation from Ludo & Rero in Columbia for the BARCU Arts and Culture Festival. Fans of street art and graffiti will also be pleased to know The House of Urban Art in Bogota curated by Fabien Castanier also featured work from Tilt.
