Mural: Joe Sorren – “The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux” in Flagstaff, Arizona

Last year, AM had the pleasure of visiting artist Joe Sorren at his studio in Flagstaff – you can check out our pictures here. Whilst we were there, Joe gave us a tour of the town, and in particular an insider’s look at his mural, titled “The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux”, in downtown Heritage Square. Releases: Joe Sorren – “The Overture” Print

Joe Sorren just announced a new print, “The Overture”, a giclee with an edition size of 95 that he has made available on his webstore. You may remember that this painting was for the BLAB! show last year. He did some pretty interesting documentation of the creative process for this piece previously which you can see here. Releases: Joe Sorren – “Mr. Kurabi’s Tales of Lovely-ness and All Things Eaten” Bronze Sculpture

Remember when we showed you the initial sculpt for a beautiful new bronze from Joe Sorren. Well, the final sculpt and patina has been revealed for “Mr. Kurabi’s Tales of Lovely-ness and All Things Eaten,” Sorren’s first sculpture release in three years. Measuring 14″ high and mounted on a handmade 360 degree wooden swivel stand, the limited edition (24) piece is available exclusively through Joshua Liner Gallery, the site of Sorren’s show in March. Teaser: New Joe Sorren Bronze Sculpture

Joe Sorren fans must be salivating right now as a glimpse of a new sculpture has been released. This will the first editioned release of a bronze from Sorren in long while, with the last being Corrina (seen after the jump). Set for an editon of ten, this won’t be cheap, but it will make some lucky collectors out there very happy. Release details follow next week.

Openings: Group Exhibition @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Saturday night, AM attended the opening of Joshua Liner Gallery’s summer group exhibition, which collects solid works from a very strong roster of artists, some of whom the gallery has shown previously and others of whom the gallery is working with for the first time. From the show, it is clear that Liner is actively evolving and maturing his gallery. And from the response from collectors and others at the opening, it seems that what he’s doing is working.
