Streets: JR (London)

As we mentioned last month, JR (interviewed) is returning to London after five years with a two-part solo exhibition, ACTIONS, at Lazarides Rathbone and multiple sites across the capital. The Inside / Out photobooth truck showed up last week and Londoners’ black and white portraits were pasted alongside the Somerset House. Streets: JR – Inside Out/11M (Los Angeles)

After tipping you off last week to the fact that JR’s (interviewed) photobooth truck was in Los Angeles, we headed by for a look ourselves. The mobile photo units have been traveling the US (and the world) of late, spreading the French photographer and street artist’s Inside Out love. Follow their website or Instagram to stay up to date as to when they will be at a city near you. For additional pictures, check out Theonepointeight’s blog here. JR Phototruck In Los Angeles

Since last year when we first learned of JR’s (interviewed) photobooth truck in Japan, the mobile unit has made its way to many different locales (including New York’s Time Square) spreading his Inside Out love. The truck has now traveled to Los Angeles and is currently located at 7600 Beverly Blvd until 7 pm tonight if you want to get your photo taken and participate. For future locations (next stop is Las Vegas) you can follow the plans on their website or Instagram. Discuss JR here.

Art Related Video On Instagram posts

Instagram recently introduced their video feature, not many people were getting too excited over it. But, one month after the update, much more people are appreciating and using it. Artists, galleries, art collectors and enthusiasts are only some of them. While the old photo feature was very helpful when it comes to sharing new works, projects, plans, sketches, the video feature gives IG users a chance to explore things deeper, show more details, show the creative process, literally show wider picture of things, and even […]

Openings: José Parlá & JR – “Wrinkles of the City, Havana” @ Bryce Wolkowitz

Last week, the Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York hosted the opening of JR and José Parlá’s collaborative showing entitled The Wrinkles of the City, Havana. The joint works were based on the time they spent in Cuba a year ago painting street murals together (covered) as part of JR’s continuing project Wrinkles of the City where he photographs senior citizens and pastes their portraits on the walls of city buildings. An example of this was outside the showspace in the form of a mural which the two created several weeks ago (covered). Take a look at all the […]
