Releases: James Jean – “Max Pipe” Print

James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing another signed and numbered time-limited print on November 14th, starting at 8 AM PST and ending after 24 hours. Entitled Max Pipe, the image is inspired by the painting Attirement of the Bride (La Toilette de la mariée) by Max Ernst. The enhancements (foil stamping, holographic foil, embossments) and dies required for this edition makes it one of Jean’s most complex offerings to date. This Saturday, November 11th, KP Projects in Los Angeles will be opening a new group show entitled Gilded Horizons. Included in the exhibition are Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, JP Naeng, Jean-Pierre Arboleda, Melany Meza-Dierks, and Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed), who contributed the stunning new geisha painting seen above among other works. The Lost Angels, a solo from Jacky Tsai, will be opening this Saturday (October 28th) at the Corey Helford Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. The exhibition will feature the Chinese artist’s work with lacquer, porcelain, mixed media painting and print, all featuring imagery that deals with East meets West themes and ideas. Seen here are pieces from his fantastic Superheroes series where we see various comic book characters placed in classic Chinese scenes, leading to a unexpected juxtaposition of worlds.
