Teaser: Ana Bagayan “Flutter” @ Mondo Bizzarro Gallery

Following on from her recent showing with Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle last year (covered), the talented Ana Bagayan’s next exhibition, “Flutter” opens on Saturday, May 8th at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome. This will be Ana’s first overseas showing, and promises a captivating series of oil paintings and drawings. The painting pictured above is the title piece for the show. Take a look at a couple of close up views and breathe in the beautiful detail after the jump.

NYC is the place to be this weekend – Ryden, Julie Heffernan, Faile/Bast, and Shepard Fairey – just a stunning lineup of shows offering something for every taste. London-based artist, Laurie Lipton, is getting set to open her show this weekend at the Grand Central Art Center at Cal State Fullerton. This exhibition will include new and old works (some from her Liverpool show in November), featuring some of her signature incredibly detailed “drawings” that have to be seen to be believed. “Weapons of Mass Delusion”, opening May 1st, not only showcases Lipton’s rendering skills but also her biting social commentary including familiar scenarios such as impotent witnesses to a crime (seen above), […]

Entitled “As Cold As They Come”, our readers may remember the image from Mark’s show at Jonathan LeVine Gallery (covered) last September.
