Earlier this month, Alex Gross (interviewed) presented a new body of work at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York, site of his last showing in the Big Apple in 2012 (covered). Urban Nation recently kicked off the next phase of their ongoing art program with a new roster of artists curated by Jonathan LeVine Gallery. One aspect of the event features artists who create window installations in Berlin and the ones invited this time did just that. Take a look at some in progress photos as Dan Witz, Jeff Soto, Nychos, Olek and Saner created their 10′ x 10′ pieces destined for the windows of the building as well as works for the group show. This Saturday night (October 25th, 6:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m), Branded Arts will be putting on their biggest event yet at the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Featuring a group exhibition along with a DJ set by Talib Kweli, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services. Openings: CT Nelson – “Thick With Instinct” @ Knew Conscious Gallery

AM was on hand at Knew Conscious for the October 11th opening of Thick With Instinct, the latest work from Denver artist CT Nelson. This is his third solo show in as many years at the gallery, and as with previous years, fans will note his signature raging fields of flowing lights and haunting imagery. One of the stars of the Denver art scene, his annual show always draws a big crowd of enthusiastic viewers. The show is on display now through November 7th.
