Previews: John Dolan – “George The Dog, John The Artist” @ Howard Griffin Gallery

Tonight (7pm) at the Howard Griffin Gallery (189-190 Shoreditch High Street) in London, a special show from John Dolan will be opening featuring his drawings and collaborations with many street and graffiti artists. Dolan has been a fixture in Shoreditch, sitting in the same spot for the last three years with his faithful canine companion drawing the changing urban landscape of the area while interacting with many of the artists that create public art in the area. With a 20 year history of homelessness himself, […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

AM was pleased to see a visit this week from NY based artist Olek (featured), we don’t often get to see a crocheted cab on the streets of London! Great fun and very impressive. So, it was good news to hear that January next year Olek will be crocheting the entire gallery space of Tony’s Gallery and live there.  Sounds like a show not to be missed. We have also seen work going up by Colombian artist Bastardilla over the last couple of weeks, painting […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Some great street art surprises have popped up around Shoreditch since the last AM London Instagram Roundup. First up, this brilliant, huge piece by the prolific Sweet Toof and CEPT at Village Underground was exceptionally nice to see. LUDO (featured) has also been getting up with his paste-ups whilst in London for his solo show Metamorphosis at High Roller Society (covered). In addition, Australian artist Ghostpatrol has been busy collaborating with Kid Acne, Ema and Dscreet on an amazing wall in Dalston; and he has also been working with Malarky (a […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Again it’s been a busy couple of weeks for street art in London. AM was happy to catch sight of some new work by Mr Penfold, collaborating with Sweet Toof and a brilliant bandit style shutter with the prolific Malarky whose work seems to be going up everywhere. Either collaborating with Ronzo, Pop 187, Kata, Word to Mother and Vinnie Nylon, the streets seem to be taking on a bold and colourful make over with playful characters adorning the shutters and walls of Shoreditch. We also […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Since the last AM London Instagram Roundup, quite a bit has being going on. First up, it was great to see Mobstr’s newly painted shutters with the words “Huh?” repeated in black and white to make up one giant “Huh?” Also, the side door to Stolen Space Gallery had a wonderful make over by Word to Mother, very nice. Sweet Toof is still being very active hitting up another roller piece with artist Smells, and also some other new work around from him too. There […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Sweet Toof seems to be the unintentional focus for AM this week.  Seeing his work on shutters, walls and wheels he certainly has been getting about.  Definitely a favourite, was seeing his new piece on Bethnel Green Road with Brooklyn graffiti artist, Smells, a real winner. A nice addition to the trackside was added by Rowdy next to some great rollers by Horror. There was more painting again this week from Malarky, collaborating either with Billy, Mr Penfold or Sweet Toof, always a pleasure to […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

The week started off well for AM with a new piece by street artist Mobstr making an appearance on Bethnel Green Road. This massive white pasteup can be seen from a distance, causing anyone who passes to stop in their tracks. Titled Visual Pollution, the letters have been cut out so the original advert can be seen through. Also, Burning Candy member Dscreet, painted a church with one of his well known owls over the top of an original mural of Jesus. Dscreet’s owl takes on […]
