Video: Everfresh Gallery at the National Gallery of Victoria

Everfresh Gallery recently teamed up with the esteemed National Gallery of Victoria for their NGVSTUDIO program. Get a look at Meggs (who we last saw in Hong Kong at Above Second) and crew creating a nice mural for the progressive space. The museum is considering pursuing a larger urban art program, so if you live in Australia, or just want to see street art in more major institutions, hit up their Facebook or Twitter and let them know! Discuss Meggs here.

Streets: Meggs in Hong Kong

Just like other street artists before him (Michael De Feo and Zevs), some more successfully than others, Meggs decided to leave his mark on Hong Kong after opening his show at Above Second Gallery. Our friends over at Above Second have sent over some images of Meggs working on some pieces for the opening of his show on July 9th (6pm – late). After recently opening a similarly named show “King for a Day” at his own gallery down under, the Melbourne based artist has traveled all the way to Hong Kong to showcase a new body of work. Based on the artists imagery, an appropriately named “Superhero / Super-villain’s Fantasy Afterparty” follows at the ROXIE. You can learn […]

Openings: Meggs – “King for a Day” @ Backwoods Gallery

Melbourne street artist Meggs, part of the Everfresh collective, opened his show “King for a Day” at the Backwoods Gallery last week. As part owner of the fresh new gallery, it seemed appropriate that the inaugural show would involve one of it’s founders. The collection of paintings, installations, and screenprints all feature his signature remix of comic imagery. More photos after the jump…
