Last weekend, New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art premiered its retrospective of American artist Jeff Koons. Upcoming: Rosson Crow @ Musée Régional d’Art Contemporain Languedoc-Roussillon

Starting Saturday (June 28th) in France, in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon in the town of Sérignan, the Regional Museum of Contemporary Art will be opening a show from Rosson Crow (featured). Showing through November 2nd, the exhibition will feature the young painter’s hallucinatory abstractions of decadent interior spaces, oftentimes embellished with elements more often seen in urban settings. This lends a modern twist to her work influenced by old world techniques, which leads to interesting juxtapositions. Discuss Rosson Crow here.

Showing: James “Dalek” Marshall @ Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

James Marshall, or better known as Dalek (interviewed) by some of his fans, recently finished a series of murals at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Painting his distinctive color spectrum style throughout the institution including the SMoCA Lounge, Store@SMoCA, and a mural (co-commissioned by Scottsdale Public Art) in the outdoor courtyard wall that leads to SMoCA’s permanent James Turrell Skyspace, the Hurley affiliated artist and designer certainly left his mark. Last weekend, the Oakland Museum of California opened a new exhibition, entitled SuperAwesome: Art and Giant Robot, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the art and culture magazine Giant Robot. Along with a diverse selection of GR branded paraphenalia and publications, artists who have been involved with them over the years contributed original artwork as well as some wall murals.
