Intricate, detailed, and elegant, Tahiti Pherson’s hand-cut monochromatic works on paper are currently on exhibition at Joseph Gross Gallery in NY’s Chelsea gallery district. Fans and admirers received a up-close and personal look at the fascinating pieces that the artist has made both in two and three-dimensions. The labor of love is on full display, as Pherson devotes an average of 100 hours for each of his works. See them for yourself in the images below and visit the gallery before the show ends on Oct 3.

Last week, It Looks Like It Says opened at Joshua Liner Gallery, the latest solo from Geoff McFetridge. The exhibition consisted of a series of large scale works as well as smaller works on paper arranged together on one wall of the New York showspace. The Los Angeles-based artist’s first solo with the gallery introduced fans in the area to his minimalistic aesthetic, emphasizing basic forms and plays on perspective. Discuss Geoff McFetridge here.

Thursday night (6-9pm) in New York, Aaron Li-Hill (interviewed) will be unveiling a new installation at Soundwall entitled Resonance. Featuring the signature kinetic energy and geometric lines seen in the Brooklyn-based artist’s work (example above), the new piece is certainly something you want to see in person. On October 17th, Offering from Martin Wittfooth (interviewed) will be opening at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York (529 West 20th Street). The exhibition will feature all new paintings, including this 73″ x 100″ beast of piece seen above entitled Rainsong. We love the new burst of color seen in this new imagery and can’t wait to see what else he has planned. Last week, Winston Wachter Fine Art in New York hosted the opening of Zaria Forman’s exhibition entitled SLIP. Infused with climate change awareness, the pastel drawings from the Brooklyn-based artist documents subjects that range from the melting icebergs in Greenland to the rising sea levels that threaten the Maldives. Despite the rainy weather, fans braved the deluge to check out the her new work including her largest piece to date. The predominant imagery from this new body of work features human figures and tigers, placed in environments that are actively hostile to their existence.
