Upcoming: Todd “REAS” James – “Swords & Sorcery” @ The Newsstand

Tomorrow (November 23, 3-9pm) in New York, Todd James will be releasing a zine at The Newsstand in Brooklyn (inside the Metropolitan Ave.-Lorimer St. stop on the G and L trains). Those attending the event will see a Sword & Sorcery themed installation based on the dungeons and dragons type pieces he has been posting onto his Instagram (some more of which are seen below) recently. Previews: Kelsey Brookes – “Better Living Through Chemistry” @ Judith Charles Gallery

Continuing with the themes he was exploring for a sold out show in San Diego last year, Kelsey Brookes will be presenting new work tomorrow night (November 21st) at the Judith Charles Gallery. His first solo in New York will feature abstract paintings and musings on molecular structures drawing from his scientific background, especially focusing in on drugs that affect the human consciousness. Openings: Aurel Schmidt – “Fruits” @ 200 Stanton

Last weekend, Aurel Schmidt opened a new showing in New York at 200 Stanton Street that will run through the rest of the month. Entitled Fruits, the body of work on display revisits some of the provocative imagery she is known for with a series of hybrids made from plant and human body parts.
