Preview: Tiffany Bozic – “Transformation” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Thursday night (November 1st), the Joshua Liner Gallery in New York will be hosting a new solo show from Tiffany Bozic. Streets: RIME x Converse (New York)

After recently joining some friends for a burner on the rooftops of Brooklyn, RIME returns with another mural in BK (on Grand and Union). Like another piece we highlighted from David Ellis (here), this wall from the MSK-affiliated graffiti artist was secured by Converse. If you look carefully, you’ll see the shoe company’s signature star mixed in with the familiar cartoonish imagery of the artist otherwise known as Jersey Joe. Photo credit: Public Ad Campaign. Preview: Ron English – “Crucial Fiction” @ Opera Gallery (New York)

Returning to the gallery that housed his massive solo in New York back in 2010, Ron English (featured) will be unveiling new works this week at the Opera Gallery. Entitled Crucial Fiction, the new series of paintings put on technical skills which are reminiscent of old master paintings, but applied to imagery biting commentary of pop culture and the commercialization of our culture. Upcoming: Aron Wiesenfeld – “New Paintings” @ Arcadia Gallery

Next month in New York, gifted painter Aron Wiesenfeld will be unveiling another set of new works (see 2011) at the Arcadia Gallery. If the painting below (The Garden), which will be part of the show, is any indication, then fans of Wiesenfeld’s dreamlike landscapes and emotive characters will want to show up for the opening on November 10th. Jonathan LeVine Gallery hosted another great exhibition this past weekend with new work from Ashley Wood. The award winning illustrator presented a murky and moody series of paintings entitled Machine Sabbath which showcased Ashley’s unique artistic techniques of less is more. Upcoming: Eriberto & Estevan Oriol – “Like Father, Like Son : NYC” @ Carmichael Gallery Popup

On November 8th, the Carmichael Gallery will be presenting Like Father, Like Son : NYC at a popup space in New York (6 to 8pm, 303 Tenth Ave in Chelsea). Openings: Camilla d’Errico & Brandi Milne – “The Candy Escape” @ Cotton Candy Machine

Last weekend, Camilla d’Errico (above) and Brandi Milne showcased new bodies of work at Brooklyn’s Cotton Candy Machine. Entitled The Candy Escape, this exhibition from both artists delighted New Yorkers and Comicon–goers alike. Camilla, who is back from a one year hiatus from fine art, took her unique mix of manga and illustrative techniques to a sold out return. While fresh off Baby Tattooville, the Los Angeles-based Milne displayed her somber and surreal paintings for Williamsburg art lovers to enjoy. Discuss this show here. This Saturday, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery will host duo exhibitions from two accomplished artists from Australia. Jeremy Geddes’ (interviewed), whose work you see above, will make his US debut solo with a new body of work entitled Exhale. The Melbourne-based painter will unveil 17 fresh paintings rendered in his meticulous style. Streets: RIME, DG, and TOPER

After working with TOPER on a collaboration in New York back in July (covered), RIME (aka Jersey Joe) has joined forces again with the Queens-based SMART crew member  on a new mural. This time, with the skills of NG as well, they hit the rooftops of Brooklyn with a new piece featuring thugged out versions of Felix The Cat, Mighty Mouse, and Top Cat.
