If you enjoyed the indoor work that some of the artists put in for this year’s Nuart Festival, you will definitely want an update on what they created on their primary canvas – the streets. Recap: Nuart Festival (Part I) – Indoor

Last week, the Nuart Festival in Norway continued its long run of excellence with the 2014 lineup of street artists in town for indoor and outdoor works. First up is a look at the installations and murals this year’s roster got up in the Stavenger TouScene venue. Openings: Mehdi Ghadyanloo – “Mirage of Redemption” @ Galleri Geo

Mehdi Ghadyanloo is known to international street art lovers for the murals he has been painting around Tehran. So far, he has created over 100 surrealistic murals around the city, brightening up the streets with his witty concepts that play with depth and perspective. On August 22nd, he opened a debut show at Galleri GEO in Norway titled Mirage of Redemption. Streets: Phlegm (Norway)

Phlegm was recently invited to Norway by Urban Samtidskunst and Galleri Lauritzen to paint a large mural in the old industrial town of Moss. After being forced to take some time off due to neck problems, the Sheffield-based artist created a groundbreaking piece on many levels. Nuart ’13: Part VI – Group Exhibition

Along with the plethora of murals painted for this year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years), the artists involved also put together a group exhibition indoors as well. David Choe, C215, Martin Whatson, Hush, Ernest Zacharevic, Dal East, Faith47, Martha Cooper, Aiko and others all created works in their own recognizable style. Showing: Tauba Auerbach @ STANDARD (OSLO)

As previously announced, Tauba Auerbach recently opened a solo show at STANDARD (OSLO). Showing a whole new body of work that includes installation works, sculptural pieces, and canvases, the American artist worked with a wide range of materials from granite, sand, glass, resin, opal, to plywood and woven fabric. Nuart ’13: Part III – Vhils

As part of our ongoing coverage (Part I & Part II) of this year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years), we now have some photos of a new piece from Vhils. Choosing from his extensive repertoire of techniques (also see recent torn paper mural in Phlly), the Portugal-based artist went with his tried and true chiseled look with this image of a face he etched into the side of a building.
