Our friends at Very Nearly Almost (VNA) recently held a release party to celebrate the launch of their latest issue where Brooklyn collective Faile (featured) created a limited edition print by silkscreening their artwork on the cover. Releases: Alex Lukas – “RTMA” Zine

Fans of Alex Lukas may want to pick up this new zine he released entitled RTMA. Chock full of recent works, photos that may have inspired his work, shots of gallery installations (like his recent show in San Francisco) and more, the 72 page booklet will get you up to date on the Philadelphia-based artist. Scott Campbell & Wife Pose For New York Magazine Article

After finishing a unique and daring project as inspiration for the paintings in his solo in Los Angeles several months ago (covered), Scott Campbell has worked on something closer to home. On the cover of the latest issue of New York Magazine is his wife Lake Bell covered in his art and profiled in an article along with the tattoo artist. For now, Lake won’t be joining Scott with permanent body art as this piece was temporary, although technically she does have a small pea-sized tattoo. […]

Releases: Tauba Auerbach – “STAB/GHOST”

For those of you who haven’t seen the beautiful handcrafted STAB/GHOST book by artist Tauba Auerbach, here is a closer look. Released through Three Star Books, the translucent limited edition comprises of “clear plastic pages, silkscreened with patterns, sewn with lanyards of plastic thread, and mounted on a specially designed light table.” Produced in an edition of 10, the piece which also functions as a light sculpture, is a testament to Auerbach’s well-known interest in color theory and complex geometries. Release: Nathan Ota – “Ikiru”

It looks like Nathan Ota’s new book Ikiru is up for preorder now from ZERO+ Publishing. The 144 page hardcover covers the LA-based artist’s work from his early street art to illustrations and gallery pieces to recent collaborations with the street artist RISK. VNA Issue 23 / Faile Cover Release (New York & London)

VNA’s Issue 23 is set for release and they will be celebrating in style with two release parties. Featuring Faile (featured) as their cover artist, the magazine will be available in New York at Reed Space (July 31st, 6-9 pm) and in London at Lazarides Rathbone (August 8th, 6-9pm), including limited edition hand screen printed cover versions (seen above, USD$60). David Choe Visits Afghanistan For Juxtapoz

David Choe (featured) recently travelled to Afghanistan with some of his friends, including Estevan Oriol who handled the photography for the trip. For those of you who liked the work created for Kent Williams’ show in Los Angeles back in 2011 (covered), he now has a new book with plenty of his paintings of that style gracing it’s pages. Barry McGee x Jim Goldberg for VICE

In this year’s VICE photo issue (recently released), an interesting collaboration between Barry McGee and photographer Jim Goldberg was featured.
